Steel blade with a leather-covered grip and an earlier field officer's scabbard. Original and in good condition. This type of sabre is a historically significant weapon that was widely used by Hungarian Honvéd officers during the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–1849. As the last infantry officer's sword officially adopted before the War of Independence, it was one of the most important command weapons of the officer corps.
