Second half of the 17th century. Slightly curved steel blade, back-edged, with a single fuller beneath the spine, struck with a five-pointed star and crescent maker’s mark. Flattened-ended crossguard with chain guard. Leather-covered grip with thumb rest, terminating in a slightly forward-angled cylindrical pommel cap. Wooden scabbard covered in leather with hammered brass mounts in Hungarian taste, with two suspension bands, ending in a flattened chape. In fine, original condition.
