Mid-18th century. Austria, Germany or Hungary. Cast brass hilt with twisted decoration ending in a lion’s head, with double-curved crossguard. Narrow straight blade with etched decoration. Latin inscription: “Alas for me, how terrible…”. Without scabbard, in good condition.
