Biedermeier fireplace clock with swans: c. 1840-50. Ebonized wooden case with alabaster columns, gold-plated column pedestals and capitals, wire. Backing with brass appliques. Behind upper glass typical Biedermeier hinged design. With watercolour of a train at the bottom of the case. The case has been cleaned and retains its original polish. Structure with Viennese type half spiral gong striking, cleaned by clockmaster, in working order. With slightly damaged enamel dial.
