Belly-shaped empire clock with eagle: c. 1800. On a pinewood base with a very nice walnut design with a nut escutcheon. Original polishing retained, cleaned. With thickly fire-gilt bronze appliqués. Viennese, spring-wire quarter bell striking, date indicating, clockwork cleaned, in working order. On enamel dial ring with Arabic numerals, date circle, marked “Samuel Grofs in Hermanstadt” (Sibiu). Movement power reserve of about 1-1.5 days. Enamel dial with slight defects.
